NoH8

The NoH8 campaign is visually recognized by people around the world. NoH8  is a charitable organization in the United States that promotes marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest. It was created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska to be a silent protest against Proposition 8 in 2009 and since then it has expanded to fight discrimination and bullying universally.

The photos are of both LGBT and non-LGBT supporters with duck tape covering their mouth to represent their silent against the proposition and NOH8 painted on the cheek. The photos featured on the campaign’s website, such as the photo above featuring the Kardashians, have a white background with the subjects wearing a plain white T-shirt and NoH8 clearly seen on the cheek.

I think this was an great idea to get attention and a good example with using pathos. This photo elicits an emotion whether it inspires you or angers you but it does get your attention.  Their are definitely more emotional drawing photos out there you can find but NoH8 definitely screams pathos.

Aside from the photo I just want to add that this website is definitely big on velocity. It has everything you can think of featured on it. Links you can clink on, products to buy, blogs to read, social media websites to share content and thousands of the campaigns photos which has nearly 33,000 faces and many are celebrities and politicians.
