Wikipedia Edit: Litter in the U.S
For my Wikipedia edit, I decided to start by looking at what different Wikipedia pages are available to the public that pertain to litter. I tried to find a page that dealt with litter in Pittsburgh specifically so that I could add something substantial. However, there didn’t seem to be any pages that are related directly to cities. So I went one step up to the Wikipedia page for Litter in the U.S.. This page contains only an overview of the litter issue in the U.S. and a small section titled “Littering Surveys and Rankings”. This page can be seen here. I decided to add my own section titled “Citizens Combating Litter” to provide any reader with additional information about how U.S citizens are active in the fight against litter. My edit is below.
To add my edit, I simply followed the format in the edit section and copied it into my edit.
This edit supplied a small amount of information, but I feel as though it made the page a little more dynamic and encompassed the issue a little bit more. I cited my information regarding the “Don’t Trash My Turf!” with a link to their website and I linked a news article regarding the “Caught Doing Good!” campaign.
I added this edit on November 29, 2014 and it hasn’t been changed since today (December 2, 2014). I feel as though my edit will not be removed because I added substantial information and cited my sources.
