Creating a Wikipedia Page on Homeless Veterans
When I searched for homeless veterans on Wikipedia, no specific page existed.
I created a page on homeless veterans, using websites I trusted from my research and my position paper. I initially created the page on 11/26, and when I checked back on 12/1 the page was still there and none of the information appeared to be different. Wikipedia suggested that I improve the page by linking to it from other related pages, and that I needed to link to even more outside articles.
In the process of creating this page, I discovered the VA’s Five Year Plan to End Homelessness Amongst Veterans, which I had not previously known about. I made a separate category for that information. I made another category called “Help For Veterans” in which I refer to the numerous organizations that are helping veterans in our nation. This one could definitely be expanded upon in the future with more links and details on these resources. I could also go more in depth with statistics than I do in the intro. I feel that it gives a pretty good overview of the homeless veteran population, but I could always add more.
I thought it was really cool to create my own Wikipedia page for a topic that I believe should get more attention. I am happy that the edit stuck over the weekend and I hope that people will search for it and add to it when they come across it.

Thanks for the information. Please keep sharing more tips like this
