Update: Recycled Wastewater

One of the greatest challenges I have encountered is finding information on using recycled waste-water specifically for drinking water. Many communities have implemented grey water systems. Grey water is recycled waste-water that is not clean enough to drink. The water is mainly used for agriculture, industrial processes, and more recently in homes (toilets, outdoor water, laundry). Because there are very few systems that produce water clean enough to drink, my resources are limited and extremely specific. I could expand my discussion to include indirect potable reuse, the blending of groundwater and recycled waste-water. Indirect potable reuse is more accepted by the public because it is mixed into groundwater supplies before being distributed to homes.

I am also looking for social media forums where activists and opposition groups are discussing waste-water. I think this would help me determine what information the audience needs clarification on. This has proven to be a challenge because I have not been able to find the names of many groups yet despite thorough searching. A few articles mention environmental groups that are involved with reusing waste-water; however, the topic is not the organization’s main focus. Because this is one of the most important aspects of my research, I would be interested in any suggestions for locating interest groups!
