Update on Autism Research
Overall, my research on the topic of autism has gone very well. A lot of what I have learned matches what I already knew from my personal experiences with my brother. However, I also feel like I have learned a lot about autism that I did not know before.
A problem that I am running into, however, is that because there are so many websites dedicated to providing information on autism, I am not exactly sure how I can make my website different from all of the others. There are plenty of websites already that provide help for people with autism and parents raising children with the disorder. So far, my idea has been to try and consolidate all of that other information and put it all together on a single website, but I am not sure if that would really be that helpful, consider all of the other websites that already exist.
Another problem with my research is that there are still a lot of unknowns when it comes to autism. No one is sure exactly what causes the disorder and there is no known cure. For the most part, a lot of the information is just guess work. This can be tough because there is no easy way to explain or deal with the disorder. However, I am trying my best to figure out the facts despite how mysterious the disorder still is.

I think that everyone is concerned about making their website look different, because I know that I am. You should not only focus on what the other websites have, but also what they don’t have. Include resources and information in your website that you want to see. Talk to other people and see what information they want to know that is not there, and then you can add that to yours.
In terms of the “unknown ” factor regarding autism, just roll with it. You need to let people know that even though autism is a mystery, it does not mean anyone has given up hope.
