Self-Image Wikipedia Editing
When I visited the self-image Wikipedia page for the first time, I thought it looked pretty good. It has many different sections and a lot of information pertaining to self-image. It seems to have a lot of random information though, and I think a lot of the sections could use some more work.
When I was reading the section about poor self-image, I noticed a big problem with the causes they discussed. The only contributing factor mentioned in the Wikipedia page is personality type. One of my main goals of my website and my work in this class is to bring light to how beauty ideals created by society are negatively affecting the self-images of young girls everywhere, so i felt it was necessary to add another contributing factor of a poor self-image to the Wikipedia page.
The original wikipedia page included only the non-highlighted information. I added the highlighted paragraph. I used the American society and the trend of thinness as an example because it is something many people can relate to. I cited the National Eating Disorder Association as a source.
I posted to the Wikipedia page earlier today, and so far my edit has stuck. I really think the information I added is an important contribution to the self-image page, so my hope is that it continues to stick in the future.

Your edit I think provides some great information. However, I think there’s a real opportunity to add some more “bulk”. Perhaps, you could’ve referenced more studies that support the strong correlation between the trend of thinness and eating disorders. Although you recently made the edit, I’m sure the added citation will increase its chances of “sticking.”
