Response to Prof. Post: Steven Colbert and ISIS

Steven Colbert, is well-known comedian on Comedy Central, who hosts his show the Colbert Report. Here Steven Colbert talks about an issue i am already familiar with from the topic i did last week on ISIS. By poking fun at ISIS and other news sources he is able to keep the audience entertained while providing some factual news. While obviously not everything is true on his show, and there is points of bias information he is able to attract an audience. The Pathos of this show is a light-hearted and appealing to young adults.
Here Steven Colbert talks about the terrorist Group ISIS in the Middle East. He discusses what ISIS and the American government have been doing to respond to the issue.
Do you think Steven Colbert is insulting the culture and the Arab people to much? Is America taking it too far? and do you think this is why Americans are thought of poorly in many parts of the world?

This clip was really funny! Colbert does a good job of making his audience aware of public issues but an even better job at making them laugh. Pathos connects him to the audience through his use of humor and sarcasm. But, pathos needs to be used with care, and his excessive sarcasm may make some audiences upset. However, what makes comedians funny is their ability to push the envelope of what is appropriate to say.
