Healthy Eating and Drug Addiction

The first blog post I choose to read was about eating healthy and how government agencies don’t necessarily do a good job in conveying what we should be eating. This post conveys an opinionated voice that is against information that is provided by government agencies. The writer is very critical of how the government presents healthy eating. This post references and links to documents and articles form government agencies such as the Department of Agriculture. This interaction helps increase the credibility of the post, as well as add additional information for further reading. This post is structured to keep the reader’s attention by questioning and ridiculing things being done by the government and big name corporations to distort the public’s view on healthy eating. This post begins by telling you what other sources want you to know about healthy eating. It then ends by telling you that the views of these sources are all not the entire truth and tells you that the real solution to the problem is to just simply eat real food. This structure helps to constantly emphasize the main points of the blog post.

The second blog post I read is focused on the public’s view on people who have drug addictions and mental disorders. The writer of this post has a scientific and sympathetic tone. This causes her to seem very credible, as well as caring toward those who have drug addictions and mental disorders. This post references other studies and articles that show and support her point that the public has a very misguided view on those who have drug addictions and mental disorders. This article uses facts and studies to make the reader feel sympathetic toward these people. It also contains many powerful quotes to solidify the message being conveyed. This post begins by stating how the public views mental illness and drug addiction, it then ends by stating examples of things that can be done to change the public views and opinions on the issue. This structure provides a great transition that helps convey the overall message of how the public should no longer be misguided on what drug addiction really is.
