So far, although it has taken the most amount of time, the kinetic typography project has been my favorite project to work on. I think a big part of it is that it combines that audio and visual elements we’ve been working on into one project. So while the image editing project was fun, and the audio project as well, I never felt like I had the sense of a full complete project like I do with this project. Being able to hear the audio\u00a0and<\/em> see visual elements in one project has felt more rewarding than any of the other projects so far.<\/p>\n

As I’ve worked further into the project as well, I’ve found it easier to remember to work on it. I think the time that it requires really forces the user to become familiar with the software and how to use it. I can’t speak for everyone else, but in the previous projects, I didn’t feel like I needed to be an expert to complete the project. For example, in the image editing project, I came into it with very little understanding of how to use Photoshop. Of course, I watched a bunch of tutorials to gain familiarity with the software and to complete this project, but I never felt like I knew how to really use the software. With AfterEffects, I feel like I have a more total grasp on the software and how to manipulate it to get it to do what I want it to do, which has maybe eased to pain of having to spend so much time working on it. I’m sure there are countless things within the software that I have yet to use and discover, but I feel my level of knowledge far surpasses that of my knowledge of the other programs we’ve worked with. I’m confident enough that my final project will be an extension of the kinetic typography.
