Hello! I am Christopher Frye and I am a senior here at the University of Pittsburgh. My major is Information Science, specifically in User Centered Design (website creation and design). I hope to find out exactly what job I would like when I graduate this year! I hail from Voorhees, New Jersey which makes me an Eagles and Flyers fan! Even though I love the ‘Burgh, Jersey is my home and my passion for the Eagles and Flyers is extremely strong. I spend my free time either listening to music (Weezer is my favorite band) or exercising with friends. My favorite way to spend time is to go on long walks with my dog and swim in the pool with her. I traveled to Sydney, Australia for Study Abroad this summer and experienced an insanely awesome culture! I got to pet so many baby kangaroos and even sleep over in the zoo to have a special night tour. I snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef and saw an interesting opera at the Sydney Opera House.
Digital media is definitely an interesting topic since it is everywhere. You open your phone and are bombarded with different articles, videos and photos that can either be accurate or misinterpreted. I want to be able to participate in this culture and also figure out how to interact with each piece of media. Information Science deals with the intricacies of the Internet, specifically with websites, and knowing how to share information is a crucial skill I wish to possess.
