Jen’s Introduction

The first thing most people notice about me is my height. Standing over 6’0″ tall, I would describe myself as a gentle giant. I consider myself a fairly introverted and soft-spoken person, but I also crave adventure and love going out with good company. I pride myself on always trying to be a source of positivity and support for those around me just like my twin sister, Kim. Though we’re polar opposites, she’s been my best friend since day one (literally) and always has my back.

I’m a pop culture junkie and legitimately think Carly Rae Jepsen is one of the best pop artists of the moment. Run Away With Me is arguably the greatest song ever made. While I’m not necessarily proud to admit it, I’m a recovering One Direction fangirl/fandom blogger. My experience as a fandom blogger really brought out my interest in digital media and I even learned how to make my own photo edits and gifs through Photoshop. While bubblegum pop music will always hold a space in my heart, most of my music is more in the alternative genre. In my free time I love to just sit around and watch Netflix or read a good book with a nice cup of coffee (coffee over tea always). I’ve had a strong interest in fashion and makeup ever since I can remember, and I take great pride in piecing together a killer look. My one wardrobe staple is most definitely a black leather jacket, which I wear pretty much whenever the weather allows for it.

I am a senior Sociology major working towards a certificate in the Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies Program. My plans for the future are still up in the air, but at the end of the day I just want to be happy where I am. Hopefully the skills I learn through this class help me get there, because I would love to engage with digital media in some way.
